Dr. Griffin was born in Yokohama, Japan and spent his early years growing up in Cincinnati, Ohio. After graduating from the University of Cincinnati he went to work for the Environmental Protection Agency, in water quality and research. His calling to medicine sent him to Wright State University School of Medicine in Dayton, Ohio, where he graduated president of The Student National Medical Association. After completing his medical internship and residency at The Christ Hospital and The University Hospital of Cincinnati, Dr. Griffin came to Maui and Initially worked with the Community Clinic of Maui and the Maui Veterans Administration.
In 1996 Dr. Griffin joined Kihei-Wailea Medical Center . His professional interest includes Geriatric Medicine, Men's health, Travel Medicine and teaching. Dr. Griffin has full staff privileges at both Hale Makua nursing facility and Maui Memorial Medical Center.
In 2013, Dr. Griffin became a MDVip wellness physician focusing on healthy lifestyle, wellness, early detection and prevention. As an MDVip affiliate Dr. Griffin was joined by the Cleveland Heart Institute in providing the highest level of medical care available.
Dr Griffin and his wife Marilyn have five children. They enjoy community service activities, reading, international travel, fishing, skiing and kayaking.
